Re: Tonight's game on satelite radio

Well I'm at a loss of words. Tough loss, but I felt it was coming anyways. First off, I thought this team was trying to get too fancy. I do remember one instance where westcott had a point blank shot and tried to pass to brule...they definetly were trying to get too fancy like they were waiting for some kind of "perfect opportunity". But at the same time, I felt like if they at least kept up their momentum and kept working at it, eventually it went in. A big blow and part of the reason they didn't I will have to blame on karl. He was playing fine to start, but when the puck is shot at ya and when there is not even a screen, and the shot is average speed, you need your goalie to stop those. The attutude goes to "jeez if he can't stop that, what the hell do I gotta do". Not saying Karl IS an awful goalie, but one thing is for sure, he had a really bad night and I gotta blame a part of this loss on him. Munro wasn't much better either, I did feel he got stronger as the game went on and he got more shots, but what do you expect? The guy hasn't even played in weeks, I knew he wouldn't be able to stop a beach ball if they shot it at him...just a bad night for both goalies. I really don'ty know who should start tomorrow. I dopn't know how good munro is(I do think he'd be a lot better than tonight) so you'd think karl would play, but at the same time, karl didn't give us much of a chance to win in this one...maybe start karl and he can shake it off? Maybe yates should just sleep on it...I gotta blame everyone for that one. We couldn't do much in goal, but we werne't doing a hell of a lot more in front of our goalies. But we were outshooting toronto through the first two periods...take it as it is I guess.

I was happy to see the fights brake out at the end...sent a good message for sure. Tomorrow nights game should be fun!

There are nights that the goaltending just isn't there.....it happens.   We'll be back tomorrow, despite playing the the Iron Sheik's arthritic Persian ass tonight. Kudos to the fans for keeping he building loud all night regardless of the pounding.

Stripes they just gave konopka a misconduct because the refs wanted to keep the game under control...dumb and useless if you ask me, the crunch needed to send a message like that. Fact is, you don't come in our barn and blow us out without getting the picture...that you haven't seen the laast of the crunch! And tomorrow night, I expect us to play even harder!

The refs just suck stripes lol...what can ya do? I do expect at least one guy from syracuse to be suspended, so Mirasty will be back in tomorrow I'd assume. And I will SECOND DAVE ON THE FANS: I was really proud to hear you guys keep cheering for the crunch despite the score...even when it was 6-2 we kept hearing lets go crunch chants, so hats off to you guys! Just a tough night...I do think we sent a good message, and I bet this team will be a lot better tomorrow night. Our fans really proved they are the best in hockey!

I think there's enough blame to go around tonight, and Karl should not be the only player pulled out by anyone as the reason for this loss. I don't really think it was fair to either Karl or Adam to put a completely cold goaltender in at the start of the 3rd period, nor was it really needed--yes, the team needed a jump but in the playoffs sometimes the players have to create their own jump because putting in a cold goaltender usually just will not work. The defense was nonexistent tonight; even in the media the Crunch has been saying that the top plan is always to block the shots and give the goaltender--who ever it is--good backup. That didn't happen tonight, where it has been happening during this series and the last series. Period. A lot of stuff went wrong, we broke down, end of story. It happened last series, in game four, and we recovered and came back to win. We'll do it this time, too.

For the most part the fans were great I just hate when so many get up and leave before the game is over. Reminded me of a SU game. I know we lost but stay the extra 2 minutes and lets not let these guys down. They all had a bad night from Karl to Konopka. I did not see any bright spots after the first 12 minutes of the game. CW was right on when he said they were trying to be way to fancy. Too many passes and too many soft passes. They lost and it does not matter if it was 1-0 or 8-2. I thought it was a good call to put Munro in as well. Something had to be done to change the momentum and it didn't work but at least Munro got some PT.

I am very worried that we might loose Dorsett and Sestito to suspensions though. Since Sestito has already been suspended he will probably get some games especially since the linesman had to tackle him as he was getting escorted off the ice. Dorsett getting the instagator he will probably see a game or two as well. They have to control their tempers and be smart with the rough stuff.

Well, that sucked.  Turning point of the game was the second goal..that seemed offside (not sure as my angle may have sucked..but have heard others think it was off too).  Oddly, for as bad as Munro looked, his stats were exactly the same as Karl's 14 saves on 18 shots.  Just an off night, and hopefully the third period rest given to Karl will help.

As for the "fun" at the end... Dorsett's instigator mandates this:

Fines and Suspensions – Instigator in Final Five Minutes of Regulation Time (or Anytime in Overtime) - A player or goalkeeper who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation time or at anytime in overtime, shall automatically be suspended for one game.

Sestito received his second game misconduct which gives us:

In Playoff games, any player or goalkeeper who incurs a total of two game misconduct penalties in the “General Category” shall be suspended automatically for the next Playoff game of his team.

So at the very least we will lose both guys for Wednesday.  I will assume we will see Mirasty and Plekhanov with them not being available

Looking back, apparently Sestito's match penalty isn't "technically" a game misconduct...but I have a feeling they'll still give him some sort of suspension...even though St. Laurent felt Sestito was fighting nobody..

    Legein / Voracek

Well CBJ management made a mistake by sending Legein home since we only have Mirasty up front to replace Dorsett and Sestito in the lineup.

During the last 5 minutes I was looking at the bench for someone to talk to Dorsett because I thought he would do something, just to tell him not to lose it.  That was a coaching mistake. I love Dorsett as a player because he runs hot but you've got to know when to cool down.

Its pretty sad too to see the captain for toronto Ondrus to tell St Laurant to "WATCH #11" then he gets kicked out of the game less than a minute later.I'm sorry I didn't know the Marlies were controling the game from the refree's point of view....stop being a baby ondrus jeesus
